Between what happens to you and how you respond, there is a space. I help leaders step into that space of reflection, so that deep self-awareness becomes self-management, and self-management becomes the courage to lead in ways that inspire.
Knowing yourself is what gives you the power to choose. I offer the space of reflection, a place to look honestly at how you lead, what you value, and what you are teaching others even when you are not speaking. From deep self-awareness comes the capacity for self-management, and with it, the choice to respond as the leader you want to be.
The six CASTLE principles from Dr. Lance Secretan’s Higher Ground Leadership are the benchmarks of leaders people want to follow:
Ron Hulse was the first sales rep Compaq Canada ever hired, in 1984. Sixteen years later he was running the company’s Canadian sales organization, having helped grow revenue from $25 million to more than $2 billion and led the integration of Compaq’s two largest acquisitions, Tandem and Digital Equipment. He spent three years inside the Silicon Valley dot-com boom, took two start-ups — based in Tel Aviv and Markham — through to exit, and later ran two executive mandates at Samsung Canada, including Chief Convergence Officer. Every one of those roles came down to the same question: who can actually lead this, and what do they need to get there. That question became a second career — first as a certified business coach and Lumina Practitioner inside a boutique executive search practice, now as The Next Move.
Every engagement is shaped around your situation, and most begin in one of these four places.
Trust your judgment and your voice, especially in the moments when the stakes are highest and the answer is not obvious.
Sharpen the practical craft: how you listen, delegate, give feedback, and bring a team with you.
Show up with calm authority in every room, from the boardroom to the town hall, and be remembered for the right reasons.
See your own patterns clearly, using evidence-based assessment, so you can lead others from understanding, not reaction.
Most executive coaching leans on a single instrument or a single school of thought. The Next Move runs on three, layered deliberately — a structured coaching methodology, a full battery of behavioral assessment, and a values-based leadership framework.
Registered Corporate Coach (RCC), trained through the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches in structured, outcomes-based executive coaching — not conversation for its own sake.
Six Lumina Learning certifications, used together: natural & adapted behavior, team fit, emotional regulation, leadership impact and revenue-facing leadership — not just one snapshot.
Trained in Dr. Lance Secretan’s CASTLE Principles — Courage, Authenticity, Service, Truthfulness, Love, Effectiveness — for leading from purpose, not just competency.
Every engagement is shaped around what you actually need, but most follow a similar arc — from getting an evidence-based read on how you lead, through to standing ready for what’s next, whether that’s a board, a search committee, or a team you’re about to inherit.
A structured read on your natural and adapted behavior — the shared, evidence-based baseline every later session builds on.
Connects self-awareness to how you actually perform under pressure, ambiguity and high-stakes decisions.
Positioning, narrative and stakeholder navigation for the specific role ahead — drawing on Lumina Leader or Lumina Sales, depending on whether the jump is people-leadership or revenue-leadership.
Interviews, board presentations, pitches — the actual moments the jump depends on, practiced and refined.
A written plan you carry forward, plus the option of a follow-up check-in once you’re in the new seat.
